Appointment Policies
By scheduling an appointment with Rhode Island Fingerprinting, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to our appointment policies, scheduling requirements, cancellation terms, payment policies, and service conditions.
Appointment Requirement
Appointments are strongly recommended for all services. Walk-in availability is not guaranteed. Certain services require advance scheduling, pre-screening, documentation review, or laboratory approval before an appointment can be confirmed.
Identification Requirements
Clients may be required to present a valid government-issued photo identification at the time of service. Examples may include: • Driver's License • State Identification Card • Passport • Military Identification • Government-Issued Identification Failure to provide acceptable identification may result in service refusal.
Payment Policy
Payment is due at the time of booking unless otherwise approved. Certain specialty services may require payment in advance before scheduling. Processing fees, laboratory fees, agency fees, state fees, ORI fees, apostille fees, shipping fees, and third-party fees may be separate from appointment fees.
Cancellation Policy
Appointments canceled at least 24 hours before the scheduled appointment time may be rescheduled without penalty. Appointments canceled less than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment may be subject to cancellation fees. No-show appointments may be charged the full appointment fee.
Rescheduling Policy
Clients may request one complimentary reschedule when notice is provided before the scheduled appointment. Additional reschedule requests may be subject to administrative fees. Emergency situations may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
No Show Policy
Clients who fail to appear for a scheduled appointment without notice may forfeit appointment fees, deposits, travel fees, or administrative fees associated with the scheduled service. Future appointments may require prepayment.
Mobile Service Policy
Mobile appointments require accurate location information. Travel fees may apply. The client must ensure a safe and appropriate location for service delivery. Mobile appointments may be rescheduled due to weather conditions, unsafe environments, traffic incidents, facility restrictions, or operational issues.
Fingerprinting Services Policy
Rhode Island Fingerprinting is responsible for properly collecting fingerprints. We cannot guarantee: • Agency acceptance • Background check results • Processing times • Agency approval • Licensing approval • Employment approval Fingerprint quality may be affected by age, occupation, skin condition, medical conditions, or other factors beyond our control.
Card Scan Processing Policy
Card scan services are subject to fingerprint quality review. Submission of a fingerprint card or PDF scan does not guarantee: • Acceptance by an agency • Acceptance by a third-party processor • Successful electronic conversion • Successful submission ORI information is the responsibility of the client or requesting agency where applicable.
DNA Testing Policy
DNA testing services are subject to laboratory requirements. Certain DNA tests require: • Chain-of-custody procedures • Additional documentation • Parent or guardian participation • Viability review • Laboratory approval Laboratory turnaround times are estimates and may vary. DNA results are provided by the testing laboratory.
Unusual DNA Sample Testing Policy
Alternative DNA samples are subject to laboratory viability review. Submission of a sample does not guarantee: • DNA recovery • DNA profile development • Successful testing • Relationship determination Certain unusual samples involving deceased individuals require Next of Kin participation and chain-of-custody procedures.
Apostille & Notary Policy
Rhode Island Fingerprinting does not issue apostilles. We assist with document preparation, submission support, and coordination. Apostille processing times are determined by the issuing authority. Notarial services are performed according to Rhode Island law.
Compliance Services Policy
DOT and non-DOT collection services are performed according to applicable collection procedures. Employers remain responsible for: • Program administration • DER responsibilities • MRO services • Policy enforcement • Regulatory compliance Collection services do not constitute legal, regulatory, or employment advice.
Refund Policy
Appointment fees may be non-refundable once services have been performed. Laboratory fees, government fees, ORI fees, processing fees, shipping fees, and third-party fees are generally non-refundable. Refund requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Limitation of Liability
Rhode Island Fingerprinting shall not be responsible for: • Agency decisions • Licensing decisions • Employment decisions • Immigration decisions • Regulatory decisions • Third-party processing delays • Laboratory delays • Mail carrier delays • Government agency delays
